Strain based Factions
Diesel Jocks
The Asphalt Saints
The Asphalt Saints Diesel Jock Clan are devoted builders and are recognized as the allies of all good people. Yellow and black hazard decals are often found in their attire, their accessories and stenciled across their vehicles. Prior to the bloom, they could be found all across the Sequoyah Wastes providing help and recovering the Mother Road. These terminally upbeat engineers have allies amongst nearly every faction.
When you have a life dedicated to one grand project, sometimes things can get pretty bleak if that project looks lost. Someone forgot to tell the Saints that. Somehow these stalwart stewards of transportation remain focused on their cause now more than ever.
The Asphalt Saints have been dedicated to the restoration and preservation of The Mother Road for as long as there has been asphalt. For as long as tires have turned. The sudden overwhelming intensity of growth throughout the wastes swallowed miles and miles of blacktop. Roads disappeared and tracks became almost instantly choked with green.
The Saints are dedicated to an ongoing but imperiled cause. They seek to recover the fractured blacktop from wherever the shifting terrain has ripped it, and carve a fresh path through this space and reclaim the Mother Road. To that end, a number of them have sought answers in the Rough. The Rough was an overgrown part of the Sequoyah Wastes prior to the bloom, now it’s an almost alien landscape filled with hostile creatures and the relentless dead. When you encounter an Asphalt Saint, they are likely to be your ally, so long as you never sully the Sacred 66.

Vegasian
Voss Vegasia
You would think that this group of con artists and cut throats would be a perfect fit for the Sequoyah Wastes. Unfortunately for them, their historic successes have caused them more problems than they can currently deal with. While they are no longer able to be killed with impunity, they are often mistrusted, assaulted or otherwise mistreated due to the fact that most remember their treachery. They are reviled by upstanding wastelanders and the Final Knights that they once called peer and confidant. The only place that they tend to be well received are the underworld sections of the wastes.
In the times before the great conflict with Felvik's Host Voss Vegasia was sought out to assist the fortress casinos. Voss Vegasia, headed by Milo Voss, provided expert advice to help optimize the function of the fortress casinos. Every casino of note had at least one Vegasian advisor. The wealthy ones would often have teams of them. Milo Voss was the lead advisor to the Fortune Vault and Casino. He was also one of the primary members of Felvik's Cohort. The Cohort were Felvik's most trusted advisors and were often leaders in their own Final Knight factions. Milo Voss made it possible for the Fortune's considerable defenses to be bypassed and overwhelmed. Once it was discovered that Voss Vegasia helped make The Fortune's destruction possible, members of Voss Vegasia became anathema. Some of them left, or discarded their membership. None of that stopped them from becoming the most reviled organization in the wastes. There is a story as to why the Final Knights hate them, but you'll need to find a Final Knight and ask them.
Natural Ones
The Sequoyah Wastes has been home to a variety of Natural One groups. While the majority of them are insular and small to the point of avoiding notice entirely, not all of them have been able to avoid the eyes of the wastes. The following have been active throughout the Sequoyah Wastes at various times.
Lantern Blade Tribe
Current Status: Missing
This particular Natural One faction is loosely based on old legends of knights that carried glowing swords and fought the good fight. These weapons, these lantern blades, are from where their eponym originates. While quite a few players may readily recognize these stories as inspired by tales of a galaxy far, far away, the characters and NPCs that comprise the Lantern Blade Tribe carry them more as oral traditions. While some may mistake this group for Telling Visionaries, they are not. The Lantern Blades are Sainthood of Ashes. The Lantern has long been a symbol that is associated with the Sainthood of Ashes and the Lantern Blades are often seen as exemplary examples of the Sainthood of Ashes Faith.
The Lantern Blade Tribe has long been troubled with the usualy problems faced by a diaspora. They have resettled multiple times and been scattered to the winds just as often. They have seen periods of stability, but currently they are absent a stable location.
Wolves
Current Status: Establishing Settlement
Lost Wolves, Bloodied Wolves, Rust Wolves, Triba de Cruenti Lupi, this group of Latin speaking Natural Ones was once thought to be all but obliterated. Thankfully, that turned out to be a premature declaration. The tribe has grown, but in the wake of The Bloom, many have left to pursue opportunities beyond the Sequoyah Wastes. While this may bode well for those others, it has left the remaining number of Wolves somewhat depleted in number and significantly less well armed. Thanks to the combined efforts of their members there has been sufficient resources collected for them to start to establish a preliminary settlement. While it is mostly temporary shelters, it's a start. A chance at a future with stability.
Costuming: They wear blood red, bone white, and charcoal grey, and carry a tribe mark of a wolf with a broken bone in its mouth.
The Proude
Current Status: Active, but incredibly small
In the far history of the Sequoyah Wastes, before the wasteland rose from the ruins of the zombie apocalypse, there was a group of warrior musicians that maintained impressive weapons of war. The legends say that when their artillery was ordered to be fired upon places being overwhelmed by undead but still occupied by people attempting to survive these warrior musicians destroyed these massive guns and picked up their instruments as they fled in to the wasteland. The Proude embraced their mandate to protect the people, and their disdain for weapons of war continued to grow.
Merican
The MacMae Families
This Merican family has seen more than its' fair share of struggles, but they have proven to be just as resilient as they are unlucky. The MacMae are a combination of two previously feuding Merican families that eventually decided to set aside their generations long conflicts after Mericans from rival families fell in love and challenged the very foundation of so many years of unchecked hatred. They used their newly established peace to pursue a number of different ventures in the wastes. They have a number of competent Jones among their ranks as well as family farms in valley's that were once considered one of the safer places in the Sequoyah Wastes. Little has been heard from the MacMae families since the Bloom Swell.
